INGOMAR RAINER

Born in Ossiach/Austria 1954, studied in Vienna and Paris, and is an organist, harpsichord-player, pianist and conductor; has devoted intensive study to performance practice and interpretation of early music, as well as to historical keyboard instruments including the pianoforte; has taught since 1979 at the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts (since 2004 first chair for „historically informed performance“ in Austria), and also as a guest professor at other institutions, and given numerous master classes; has made concert appearances as soloist, accompanist, chamber musician and conductor, working with various formations dedicated to ancient as well as modern music, and participated in radio and CD productions; has published scholarly articles and editions.
